For the past six years, Beacon has leveraged data collection methods in Beacon neighborhoods, providing information on who is rebuilding, where blighted properties are located, and where the worst potholes are. Beacon Brightens the Neighborhood with Allstate

Thanks to funding from the Allstate Foundation, Beacon of Hope will be able to assist 15 Gentilly homeowners restore the exterior of their homes. One of the first recipients of the grant funding was Ms. Mildred, who is retired from Charity Hospital and has lived in her Fairmont Park home since 1997. Several volunteer groups worked on the home: Providence College from Rhode Island prepped and caulked the house, Ithaca College from New York painted the siding, trim and porches, while a group from Grace Church (also New York) completed the landscaping.
