Denise Thornton attended the Executive Education Program at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 2007. Denise has received numerous honors and awards including New Orleans Magazine’s Top 10 Female Achiever Award, City Business Innovative Business of the Year Award, Alliance For Good Government Civic Leader of the Year Award, Friends of New Orleans Hero Of The Storm, Young Leadership Council Role Model Award, Liberty Torch Award from Anti Defamation League, AFP Board of Directors Award, City Business Innovative Business of the Year Award, Litigation Management’s Professionalism Award, Public Relations Society of America Hornblower Award and was named one of the 10 Heroes of the Storm by the Times Picayune. In addition, Denise has served on the Louisiana Serve Commission, Fleur-de-Lis Ambassador, New Orleans Crime Coalition and is a graduate of the Citizens Police Academy.
Martin Huber holds a BS in Philosophy/Religion from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky. Martin has over ten years of nonprofit experience in volunteer management, program management and special event coordination. Prior to joining Beacon of Hope, Martin served 4 years working in AmeriCorps programs, two years of which focused in hurricane recovery. Martin works on fundraising, technical assistance, grant reporting, and program development. While working at Beacon of Hope Resource Center, Martin earned both a CFRE, (Certified Fund Raising Executive Certification) and a Masters of Business Administration.
